We proudly provide services and support for LGBTQ family building
Every person deserves the chance to have a family. This belief is why the doctors, nurses and staff work at Texas Fertility Center to help patients become parents. As part of our comprehensive fertility services, we offer care to support LBGTQ family building. Susan Hudson MD, our New Braunfels fertility doctor, will walk you through each step of the process. Every member of our team is here to help you make your dream of parenthood come true.
There is a rainbow of options for LGBTQ family building
Diversity makes life beautiful, so our New Braunfels fertility doctor proudly serves patients of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Gay couples and single men can have a biological child with help from third party reproduction. To start your journey, you’ll select an egg donor and a gestational surrogate. The egg donor will provide her eggs for the pregnancy. Embryologists will freeze these eggs from sperm from you or your partner. Finally, the gestational surrogate will carry the pregnancy and deliver your baby.
Lesbian couples and single women have three options for LGBTQ family building.
- The first is intrauterine insemination (IUI) with donor sperm. This involves using a thin tube to place donor sperm through the vagina and into the uterus.
- In vitro fertilization (IVF) with donor sperm is another option for women. This multi-step process involves fertility medications, an egg retrieval procedure, fertilizing the eggs with the donor sperm in a lab and embryo transfer.
- Reciprocal IVF is the final option. It allows one woman to provide her eggs and the other woman to carry the pregnancy. This is a beautiful way for both partners to experience the magic of conception and pregnancy.
Our New Braunfels fertility doctor also offers
LGBTQ
family building for transgender patients. For patients who are just beginning to transition, fertility preservation can be a great option. Dr. Hudson can also help if you have already transitioned. Sometimes, oral medications and IUI are enough to make parenthood possible. In other cases, Dr. Hudson may recommend treatments like IVF and sometimes third party reproduction.
